Chiefs Open Training Camp With A Strategic Vision To Reach Success

The Kansas City Chiefs reported to Missouri Western State University for training camp on Sunday amid high expectations for this season. The KC Chiefs open training camp with a strategic vision to reach success. The rookies and a few select veterans arrived to start the initial team building process and begin an initial march to the Super Bowl. The team is looking forward to carrying over some of the success from last season.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the media with confidence that he has the missing pieces of the puzzle to overcome the obstacles to reach the playoffs. Reid has the expertise and now the right tools to back up his remarkable coaching career to deliver the Chiefs to the Super Bowl.

The one advantage the Chiefs have on their AFC West division rivals are superior coaching with Reid leading the team. The Chiefs have improved on offense every year since Reid became the head coach in 2013. Based on past success with the Philadephia Eagles, Reid’s Chiefs are poised to exceed expectation on offense and defense this season.

Reid’s exceptional ability to design schemes catered to players strengths gives the Chiefs the edge over Denver, LAC, and Oakland. When the rest of the Chiefs veterans report on Wednesday, the team will focus on the critical matters at hand. Some of those matters include shoring up a weak defense at the linebacker and defensive line positions.

Last season All-Pro Chiefs safety Eric Berry suffered a season-ending Achilles Tendon injury. During Berry’s absence, the Chiefs secondary missed the great leader, although they held up reasonably well.

This training camp the Chiefs will focus heavily on adding some new faces into the linebacker position. Also, the defensive line will be beefed up with several rookies, such as DT Derrick Nnadi from the NFL draft. Overall, the Chiefs defense looks solid for the long-term and will create opportunities to reach the playoffs.

Chiefs defensive coordinator, Bob Sutton, kept his defense competitive by showing different alignments and defensive fronts. This year’s draft talent will give Sutton the opportunity to expand his defensive package oriented playbook.
