Jaguars Versus Rams: Back To Back Wins?

This week marks Jacksonville’s first game in their home city. They have technically had 1 home game, but it was across the pond. This Sunday the Jaguars have a chance at back to back wins this season. Earlier this year they could’ve had back to back wins with what should have been an easy win over the surprisingly better than expected Jets. This week Jared Goff and the Rams will have to face the explosive defense of the Jaguars, led by Calais Campbell. The Jags have a league-leading defense and an effective running game. As long as Blake Bortles can just not make the big mistake, the Jaguars can get another victory and a win in front of their hometown fans.

The defense is going to have their hands full again this week. The Rams come in boasting the 2nd highest scoring offense in the league. Second-year quarterback Jared Goff has really found his stride this year with 1st-year head coach Sean McVay. The Ram’s running game continues to improve with the power running game from RB Todd Gurley. The Los Angeles Rams have made leaps and bounds over last year’s team. They are in 1st place in their division and look to continue their progress.

The Jaguars have to use the same formula as last week against the future Hall of Famer, Ben Roethlisberger. They will need to ensure they get pressure on Goff to ensure he can’t get into a rhythm with WR Sammy Watkins. The defensive ends will have to not only pressure Goff but contain him as well. Jared Goff has proven to be a very mobile quarterback and can extend plays outside the pocket. To shut down the offense of the Rams, the Jags are going to have to contain Goff and ensure solid tackling on the tough to bring down Gurley.

With a heavy dose of Leonard Fournette and no big mistakes from Blake Bortles coupled with another huge performance from that defense, the Jags could be set to put up another W.
