This is the week to start searching the waiver wire for those gems (some slightly tarnished) who are going to win you the week.

EMMANUAL SANDERS, WIDE RECEIVER, BUFFALO BILLS,  ROSTERED IN 26% YAHOO AND 23% ESPN LEAGUES

It is always good to look for wide receivers on a team with 42.7 pass attempts a game (4th in the NFL).

Sanders is on the field for 84.4% on the snap share and receives 16.5% target share.

Week 3 stats: 6 targets, 5 receptions, 94 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Week 4, the Bills will play the Houston Texans at home. The Bills are currently a 16.5 point favorite.

CHUBA HUBBARD, RUNNING BACK, CAROLINA PANTHERS, ROSTERED 26% YAHOO AND 11% ESPN

Now is the time to board the Hubbard train.  With Christian McCaffrey out “few weeks,” Hubbard is the next man up. The Panthers are currently 3-0, and they run the ball 45.15% of their offensive plays. Their next three games are against the Dallas Cowboys (6TH in rushing yards allowed per game), Philadelphia Eagles (26th in rushing yards allowed per game), and Minnesota Vikings (20th in rushing yards allowed per game).

Week 3 stats: 11 rushes, 52 yards, 5 targets, 3 receptions, 27 yards

TIM PATRICK, WIDE RECEIVER, DENVER BRONCOS, ROSTERED 23% YAHOO AND 14% ESPN LEAGUES

KJ Hamler went out with a season-ending knee injury in Week 3. Before the injury, Hamler was on the field for 44.9% snap share and a 10.8% target share.

Patrick will get some of that volume. The Broncos’ next two opponents are AFC North opponents, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers, both top 10 against the run (Ravens 9th Steelers 10th), the Broncos may be forced to pass the ball more.

Week 3 stats: 5 targets, 5 receptions, 98 yards

TYLER CONKLIN, TIGHT END, MINNESOTA VIKINGS, ROSTERED 4% YAHOO AND 3% ESPN

It may surprise you that a team with Dalvin Cook has passed the ball on 60.10% of their offensive plays this season. The trend does not look like it is slowing down.  Their next game against the Cleveland Browns projects a 51.5 over/under.

Conklin competes with Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson for targets, but he is still on the field for a 71.5% snap share and a 13.9% target share.

Week 3 stats: 8 targets, 7 receptions, 70 yards, 1 touchdown

CONCLUSION

Sometimes the waiver wire gives more and this week is one of those weeks. Don’t panic but keep an eye out on the injury reports and a team’s next opponent.

Rest in Power, Mike Tagliere. Thank you.
