Welcome back to the Fantasy Football Start Em Sit Em Week 13! I hope everyone’s holidays went well and we are all ready for the last stretch of the regular season. So let’s get into it! Here’s who to start this week and who to keep on your bench.

Quarterback

Start Em

Goff may not have done so hot against the Cardinals the first time, but this offense has been on a roll three out of the last four weeks. While Patrick Peterson should shut down whoever he covers, the overall quality of the Cardinals defense should let Goff have a solid day. Against teams under .500, Goff has 15 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. So you can be confident in having Goff in the lineup this week.

Keenum should maintain the starting role in Minnesota unless he has a bad week. Thankfully for both you and him, he’s been on fire recently and looks to keep it that way going up against the Falcons defense. So for this week have no fear starting Keenum. The Falcons have allowed 20 or more points in all but two of their games this season and the defense has struggled almost every week. The Falcons secondary is also a little injured so that would allow Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs to continue tearing it up as the best wide receiver duo in the game.

The Chargers went from an upset this season to now having a chance for a playoff berth. Beginning their last stretch of play they get the Browns. The matchup alone gives Philip Rivers one of the highest ceilings as the Browns’ defense has been destroyed almost all season.  While Myles Garrett is a threat, there should be nothing to stop Rivers and Keenan Allen from scoring a bunch of fantasy points for you.

Sit Em

The Eagles are on a roll that is somewhat rare in the NFL. They have been a dominant team all season and there’s not much Russell Wilson will be able to do against one of the top defenses in the league. While no one can deny that Wilson is sometimes magical at quarterback, there will probably be some turnovers and some stops that result in Wilson not being the best option.

Brissett has had value throughout the last few weeks as a steamer but not this week. His recent performances are against him and he also has to go against the division opponent Jacksonville Jaguars this week who have the best pass defense in the league. So pick up someone else as a streamer this week with Brissett not having a good projection.

Stafford is one of the premier talents in the league, but the lack of talent around him makes him a sit this week against the Ravens deadly defense. The Ravens have shut down the struggling teams they have played against and the Lions fall right into that category. Stafford has a favorable matchup and could fall out of the top 15 fantasy QBs this week.

Running Back 

Start Em

This duo is a must start from here on out. While the Panthers can boast a good defense, Kamara and Ingram are nearly unstoppable this season. Ingram can rack up the rushing touchdowns while Kamara can be a PPR monster. Even against the Panthers have no fear, this regular season could be historical for this backfield and Kamara is making a strong case for rookie of the year.

There is a similar reasoning for starting Gurley as there was above for Jared Goff. The Rams dominate bad teams and Gurley has been a top fantasy back all season. If Gurley’s on your fantasy team he needs to be in the starting lineup this week as he is an elite RB1.

The Patriots have been on a crazy offensive streak the last three weeks. Rex Burkhead has proved that he is a valuable asset to that streak. With blowout potential against the Bills, Burkhead could capitalize on his split touches with Dion Lewis and cross the goal line again this week. Burkhead definitely has flex value and low-end RB2 value this week.

Sit Em

Mixon had a true RB1 week last week, showing that he can put up good fantasy numbers as a starter. While that is a good game for his future, Mixon will have a rough week this Sunday against the Steelers. Going against a top 10 defense tends to lower almost everyone’s ceiling but the Bengals offensive line is going to get Mixon and Andy Dalton beat up. There are better matchups down the stretch for Mixon but go ahead and bench him this week.

Kareem Hunt has not scored a touchdown since week 3. Week 3 people! That is a crazy stat for the early frontrunner for rookie of the year. Hunt had an average of 1.5 yards on the ground last week against a Buffalo defense so there’s no reason to expect much better this week against a much better run defense in New York. The Jets should be able to shut down this Chiefs running game and giving this team another week of worry while they struggle to get a win.

Even with the revenge narrative this week, Morris should remain on the bench. The Cowboys offense has been absolutely awful the last view weeks. Even with Darren McFadden being released, Morris will still lose time to Rod Smith and he will struggle in Dallas lost offense. There’s also a possibility Rod Smith takes over the main back job as the Cowboys look to move to the rookie. Morris is a touchdown-dependent flex play this week and probably will not convert.

Wide Receiver

Start Em

The Jets receiver has been on fire the last few weeks with a touchdown in his last five games. While the Chiefs do have young stud corner Marcus Peters, their pass defense has been subpar the last few weeks. He could see similar stats to last week and that puts Anderson in WR1 territory. Let the breakout year continue!

Goodwin has over 50 receiving yards in each of his last three games. He’s performed well this season and, no offense to C.J. Beathard, Jimmy Garoppolo should provide better quarterback play than what he’s been getting. The matchup against the Bears is also a favorable one as there passing defense is ranked 21st in the league going into this week.  Goodwin is a low-end WR2 and a good flex play this week.

While his teammate is in the sit column, Kupp has a pretty good chance to produce this week. A must start in PPR, Kupp should have the freedom to roam all around the middle of the field and the Cardinals have struggled this year against slot receivers. If Robert Woods misses another game, Kupp’s ceiling gets even higher.

Sit Em

This touchdown dependent wide receiver has not scored this week 7. These last few weeks Bryant has basically been invisible. He at best is a flex play at this point and the matchup against Josh Norman makes it an even worse matchup for Bryant. There is bust potential here even if this is a high scoring game.  

While the Rams have dominated bad teams, Watkins should see Patrick Peterson all day. He’s a touchdown-dependent wide receiver with a shutout looming. Keep Watkins on the bench while he goes against top corners.

The Colts face their division rival Jaguars this week and the number one pass defense should shut down Hilton and friends. Hilton has not even really performed well in favorable matchups. So there’s no reason for Hilton to be in any starting lineup this week.
