Rookie wide receiver Corey Davis makes his return to the Titans line up and that couldn’t come at a better time. The Titans sit at 4-3 and are coming off a 12-9 win over a Browns team that’s a bigger loser than Gil Gunderson. Mariota has dealt with a hamstring injury but he looked great in the pocket in a win over the Colts. Against the Browns, he looked limited. It hasn’t helped that he’s been without Davis. Corey Davis is a rookie but he’s been key to the Titans early success. He can stretch the field and has reliable hands.

Eric Decker, Rishard Matthews, and Delanie Walker have had a tough time getting open. Corey Davis should open the field more and the running game should get back on track. Mariota is also said to be 100% and that means they can get back to the exotic smash mouth. Davis has yet to light up the stat sheet but it’s clear the Titans have missed his presence. Defenders knew they could just key on Matthews and Walker. The Titans offense doesn’t have a bevy of playmakers which makes Corey Davis all the more important.

Corey Davis had suffered a hamstring injury and admitted that he tried to come back too soon. He’s dealt with it since training camp and its almost been admirable that he was able to be as productive as he was. Now that the injury seems to have passed he can begin to develop. The Titans were criticized for taking Davis with the 5th overall pick. He is central to their plans and will be Mariota’s go-to target. Hopefully, that happens sooner than later as the Titans hold a slim lead in the AFC South. For now, Davis has to find a way to get back into playing rhythm. Luckily, the Ravens will be a great early test for him.
