Chris Simms on the State of the Los Angeles Rams

“First off, congratulations, right? Seriously, that year (2023) was an incredible draft. Sean McVey is incredible. Their mid-round draft picks continued to be incredible. That’s what people lost when they were spending all that money for the big-time trades or free agents. There still was a number of third and fourth-round picks on the team who were (quality starters). He is starting and he’s a fifth-rounder. Like he (Puka Nacua) is really good. They killed the draft. McVay’s an incredible coach. They flipped around the team already.”

On the Rams 2024 Draft

“The meat and potatoes are there for the Rams. It’s just a sizzle now. Maybe another big-time pass rusher, right? Another blue chip player in the secondary. Receiver is not a necessity, but you know, they’re growing on trees right now to where you probably get another one to go with Puka and Cooper Kupp and Tutu Atwell.”

“I think it’s all defense. Aaron Donald, we’re coming to the end, right? So they gotta start thinking about the front seven difference makers and a guy or two in the back end. When it’s a big down, we gotta play man to man and we gotta trust that you can be on an island. And I don’t think they had that this year.”
