The women of the WWE made history at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view by participating in the main event, a first-ever women’s Royal Rumble. Now they are set to break more glass ceilings with the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Stephanie McMahon announced on a recent episode on Monday Night Raw that Alexa Bliss, Raw’s women’s champion, will be defending her title against five other competitors in the first-ever women’s Elimination Chamber. Whoever walks out of the unforgiving structure will go to WrestleMania wearing the gold.

Asuka, the winner of the women’s first Royal Rumble, has not shared what champion she wants to face at WrestleMania so there is no doubt the Elimination Match is of great interest to her.The rules for the women’s Elimination Match are the same as the men’s.

Kurt Angle announced on the February 5th edition of RAW that Alexis Bliss’ opponents will be Mickie James, Sasha Banks, Sonya DeVille, Bayley and Mandy Rose. He also announced that Nia Jax would face Asuka at the pay-per-view and if Jax wins, the women’s title match at WrestleMania will have Nia Jax added to it.

The Women of the WWE have made such strides since 2016. The Elimination Chamber is just another opportunity to shine and show the WWE Universe that the women are every bit as talented as the men, if not more so.
