As we get into week three here in the regular season, we can start to see whether our preseason predictions were correct or not. If you’re like me and you’re starting to worry about your “Star” that you picked in the draft, it’s time to start looking to the waiver wire for some insurance. Here are some guys you can pick up and start in week three.

Fozzy Whittaker (RB – Carolina Panthers)

Jonathan Stewart is out for at least a week, which means Whittaker will get the start. In his career, Whittaker has 4.3 yards per carry but has only started in 5 games. The Panthers are playing a pretty stingy defense in Minnesota so don’t expect anything above 15 points, but he’s a decent play if you have injuries or just a bad running back. – Tim Schwan

Marcus Mariota (QB – Tennessee Titans)

Normally I wouldn’t suggest Mariota as a pickup but this week he might get you a decent chunk of points. Oakland has given up the most yards in the air this year so expect Mariota to take full advantage of their secondary. He has averaged more than 35 attempts per game this year and I don’t see throwing any less this week at home. Mariota is good for 20 points this week if you’re hurting at the QB position. – Tim Schwan

Tyrell Williams (WR – San Diego Chargers)

I don’t like admitting this but I have been impressed with San Diego’s play thus far in the season. Philip Rivers has been playing well and with Kennan Allen out for the season, Williams is a good addition to your lineup. He also leads the team with targets per play, which is sure to result in decent numbers versus a struggling Colts team. Williams is good for 75 yards and a touchdown this week. – Tim Schwan

Jerick McKinnon (RB – Minnesota Vikings)

With Adrian Peterson likely being sidelined for an extended period of time, expect McKinnon to carry the majority of the load in the Minnesota backfield. With his home run playmaking ability and speed, his value is much higher than fellow RB Matt Asiata who may take over the goal line and 3rd down duties. – Levi Lefler

Matt Asiata (RB – Minnesota Vikings)

McKinnon will likely be the first and second down back if AP does indeed miss some time. However, Asiata is a powerful bruiser that will vulture goal-line opportunities from the smaller McKinnon. In replacing Peterson, Asiata out-touched McKinnon 6 to 2 so he is worth stashing in deeper leagues. – Ryan Dyrud

Quincy Enunwa (WR – New York Jets)

The receiving corps in New York is already loaded with talent, as Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall are must-starts in most fantasy leagues. With the emergence of Enunwa, it gives Fitzpatrick another weapon to throw to, and with his performance last week, it shows that there is still plenty left over for Enunwa to remain a decent WR3/Flex play. – Levi Lefler

Clive Walford (TE – Oakland Raiders)

Walford has been one of the top targets for Derek Carr as he has been targeted 5 times and 7 times in the first 2 weeks of the season. He nabbed his first touchdown of the season last week and garnered 17 fantasy points for the week. With Cooper and Crabtree drawing a lot of the attention from the secondary, you can expect the athletic tight end to continue to build chemistry with Carr. – Ryan Dyrud
