ENGLEWOOD, CO—After long contract negotiations and many nervous fans in Denver, a deal has finally been reached, making OLB Von Miller the highest paid defensive player in NFL history, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN and other multiple reports.

The deal is worth $114.5 million over six years with $70 million guaranteed. According to sources, Miller will receive a $23 million signing bonus, $42 million guaranteed at signing, $61 million guaranteed after the second year and $70 million guaranteed after the third season of the deal.

Miller’s guaranteed money of $70 million is more money than Bronco GM and Hall of Fame Quarterback John Elway made in his entire 16-year career.

After the deal was reached, Miller tweeted “FOR LIFE,” revealing his excitement and desire to be a Denver Bronco for his entire career.

Here is how Von Miller’s contract of guaranteed money stacks up with the most guaranteed money in NFL history:

  • QB Andrew Luck – $87 Million
  • LB Von Miller – $70 Million
  • QB’s Eli Manning, Philip Rivers – $65 Million

Von Miller is 27-years-old and entering the prime of his career. Elway and the Broncos hope that Miller will make good on their decision to give him the mega-deal that he desired.
