The USC Trojans and Lincoln Riley have absolutely crushed the 2025 recruiting cycle so far. Their 2025 class, with three five stars currently committed, has a composite ranking of 4th. Will they add another five-star player?
The Trojans have been recruiting, along with everyone else in the country, elite two-way athlete Jonah Williams out of Texas. Williams plays both wide receiver and defensive back for the historic Texas football program Galveston Ball. At 6’3, 205 he would have freakish size at the safety position at the Collegiate level. Williams is listed as a Top-10 recruit in the Country.

What is interesting is that 247 Sports lists secondary coach Doug Belk as Williams’ primary recruiter, while On3 lists linebacker coach Matt Entz. Belk has great ties to Texas, but the Trojans are loaded in the secondary and have a lot of youth. It would make some sense to include Entz in the recruiting picture considering Williams could potentially play anywhere on the field, and USC has way less depth at linebacker (will likely lose Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, Eric Gentry, Mason Cobb, and Raesjon Davis after this season).
Can The USC Trojans Gain A Commitment From Jonah Williams?
However, USC has an uphill climb to gain a commitment from Jonah Williams. Both 247 Sports and On3 are predicting him to commit to Oklahoma, and SC is also competing with Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, and Ohio State.
Williams is scheduled to visit USC this upcoming weekend on June 2. Expect USC Football to bring out all the stops similar to when Justus Terry and Isaiah Gibson visited and the Trojans were able to gain commitments. This will be Williams’ first visit with the Trojans.
After this weekend, Williams will visit Texas A&M on 6/8, and then is scheduled to visit both LSU and Ohio State the weekend of 6/14, and he will end his visits with a trip to Oregon on 6/21.
