New USC Trojans RB Coach Anthony Jones Jr. Is Already Setting The Tone

New USC Trojans running back coach Anthony Jones Jr. hasn’t been on staff for a full week and he is already making his presence felt. Toughness, discipline, and unrelenting work ethic seem to be a theme with this new coaching staff, and Coach Jones has jumped right in.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video must be worth 10,000.

We just recently had Coach Eric Henderson on our Salute To Troy podcast and he detailed the meaning of his coined mantra DAWGWORK. It’s relentless, and it’s a lifestyle.

When you look at his history and pedigree, Coach Jones is cut from the same cloth. His drive as a coach has put seven running backs in the NFL, plus Emani Bailey who will be drafted this year. He will now be tasked with continuing the great legacy of USC Running Backs, but taking it even further.

The USC Trojans 2024 running back room is a very talented one. Transfer Jo’Quavious Marks is a very talented back who will be seen as the probable RB1. However, current freshmen Quinten Joyner and A’marion Peterson have a ton of talent and upside. This will be the deepest running back room for Lincoln Riley since coming to USC and has the potential to be one of the top backfields in the Big Ten.

It’s a simple offseason workout video, but you can just feel that things are different with this team. The DAWGWORK mentality is spilling over, and Coach Anthony Jones Jr. is the latest to demonstrate the relentlessness required to be great.

If this USC Trojans team wants to surprise people next year it starts now with the offseason program, and with a new starting QB in 2024, the running back room will be leaned on more heavily to take the pressure off.

Anthony Jones Jr. looks like the correct coaching choice to get this group where they need to go.
