USC Trojans QB Officially Enters Transfer Portal, Rumors Of His Destination

Once a Trojan, always a Trojan. Miller Moss will forever be a member of the USC Trojans and should be beloved by all fans of the program for what he gave and meant to the team.

He stuck with the program after Caleb Williams transferred in, a move that most players in today’s College Football do not do.

He battled during the 2024 offseason and earned the starting job heading into the new season. He warranted the right to be called “USC Trojans Quarterback,” one of the highest honors in College Football.

When he was benched in the middle of the season in favor of Jayden Maiava, he stuck with the team and continued fighting for his teammates and coaches.

After Saturday’s home loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miller Moss took one last lap around the historic coliseum. His time with the Cardinal and Gold had come to an end, and you could see the sadness, but also the pride in his eyes.

If the Trojans program gets back to the top of the mountain where it belongs, Miller Moss should be remembered as one of the embattled building blocks that helped get it there.

Now, with one year of eligibility remaining, Moss has officially entered the transfer portal as he vies for another shot and the opportunity to take his talents to the NFL.

I’m sure this decision did not come lightly for Moss, who was a Trojan through and through. When you think of what it means to be a Man of Troy, Moss is the type of person and player that you want to represent the program.

But with the team moving forward, and in a different direction at the QB position, Moss had to enter the portal to keep the possibility of his football career alive.

During his recruitment, the other 3 finalists outside of USC were UCLA, Alabama, and LSU. All three of these schools could be on the table.

Garrett Nussmeier still has a year of eligibility left, but who knows if he will stay at LSU, declare for the NFL draft, or enter the portal as well. The Tigers also just lost their prized jewel of the 2025 recruiting class in Bryce Underwood. They certainly need to improve at the QB position.

There have been rumors that Alabama QB Jalen Milroe could enter the transfer portal. If he does, the Crimson Tide will undoubtedly be looking for a bridge QB while incoming freshman Keelon Russell develops.

Crosstown rival UCLA is losing their starting QB Ethan Garbers. Justin Martyn is in line to start, and incoming freshman Madden Iamaleava has a lot of promise, but if Moss wants to stay in Los Angeles, he would have a really strong chance to start for the Bruins next year.

Another school that Moss was rumored to transfer to is Michigan. The Wolverines desperately need to improve the QB position and Moss would bring some stability for the year. They did shell out a ton of money to flip the number one QB in the 2025 Class, Bryce Underwood, but adding Moss would give him a year to develop if he did not seem ready to start yet.

One wildcard program to watch for is Stanford. Mater Dei product, Elijah Brown, is currently a freshman for the Cardinal, but Moss would still bring stability to the position. With education being a high priority for Moss, there isn’t a better school in the country to join as a graduate transfer. There is also the added bonus of the recent hiring of Andrew Luck as the program’s new GM.

Where he ends up, we wish Moss nothing but success.

Fight On, Miller Moss.
