Five-star 2026 quarterback Jared Curtis from Nashville (Tenn.) Christian School has de-committed from the University of Georgia. He had been committed to the Bulldogs since March but has decided to explore other options, including the USC Trojans.
USC Trojans in the Running For Jared Curtis
He spoke with On3’s Pete Nakos, where he laid out his top options;
“I’d say USC, South Carolina, Oregon, Clemson (and Ohio State),” Curtis told Nakos. “I’d say Alabama too.”
Curtis visited USC during the summer.
“I talk to Coach (Luke) Huard and I like Lincoln Riley is the offensive coordinator and head coach. What he’s done in the past production and quarterback-wise.”
“I’d say the production of quarterbacks is a big factor in it but also the relationship with the coaches,” Curtis said. “I’d like to see stability obviously but the biggest thing I’d say is relationship with the coaches.”
Lincoln Riley has earned the reputation of developing quarterbacks into NFL-level prospects. Of the past seven Heisman Trophy winners, three were either quarterback coached by Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma or USC (Caleb Williams, Baker Mayfield, and Kyler Murray) and all were drafted. This trend highlights the success of his programs in developing elite quarterbacks.
That makes USC a quite compelling choice for any QB.
The 6 foot 4, 225-pound signal-caller is ESPN’s top prospect at the position and is ranked third by Rivals, 247, and On3. In seven games Curtis has completed 106 of 156 attempts, for 1624 yards and 18 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. He has also run 44 times for 365 yards and another 11 touchdowns.
On3 gives Ohio State the best chance of landing his next commitment (52.8 percent) or going back to Georgia (36.6 percent).
A source familiar situation sees USC firmly in control of this situation and that it comes down to whether they prefer Curtis or Ryder Lyons, the consensus #3 ranked QB out of Folsom, Cal.
