USC Recruiting: Trojans Get A Big-Time Commitment Flip

The USC Trojans football program and USC recruiting just gained a big commitment flip. 4-Star Offensive Tackle, Justin Tauanuu was committed to Stanford, but announced last night that he was de-committing from Stanford, and announced this morning on X that he is committing to USC.

The 6’6, 285-pound lineman is a local kid from Huntington Beach, CA, and currently attends Huntington Beach High School. According to 247Sports, Tauanuu is the 37th ranked prospect in California, and the 26th ranked IOL. Tauanuu had 20+ offers including Texas, Tennessee, Washington, Utah, and UCLA.

Much has been made about Coach Lincoln Riley re-creating a recruiting pipeline in Southern California. While there is still work to be done, this recruiting flip demonstrates that progress is being made.

This moves the USC 2024 Class to an overall rank of 17th and the class as 16 hard commits. December 20 is National Letter of Intent Day, so Coach Riley has a little more than a month to sure up his 2024 class, and we expect plenty of moves and commitments to happen.
