2025 is already shaping up to be a solid recruiting year for USC football wide receivers. They have already earned commitments from Corey Simms and Romero Ison. And now according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, they are the front runners to land Tanook Hines, the South Texas speedster.
On3 is giving the Trojans a 92.5 percent chance of getting the 6-foot, 185-pound receiver, with home-state Longhorns with the next-best odds at 2.7 percent and Notre Dame at 1.9 percent.
USC Football Named Front Runner for Tanook Hines
Hines is ranked 35th among the nation’s wide receivers and 42 among Texas football players according to 247 Sports
USC football extended a scholarship offer to Hines in December of last year and he took an OV on May 31st. He is set to announce his decision on July 15th. Hines also officially visited Texas, Notre Dame, and Baylor since his SC trip.
Wide Receivers Coach and Passing Game Coordinator Dennis Simmons is credited as Hines’s primary recruiter.
Last year for the Westfield Mustangs, the junior caught 35 passes for 528 yards and five touchdowns in six games. Hines clocked a 10.44 100m this spring.
