USC football remains hot on the recruiting trail on the heels of losing two 5-star defensive linemen; Justus Terry and Isaiah Gibson. It was reported by On3 Sport’s Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal, Steve Wilfong that five-star plus defensive lineman, Jahkeem Stewart visited the Trojans this week and loved his time with the Trojans.
The 6’6″ 270-pounder ranked as the third top prospect in his class and its top defensive lineman. The New Orleans native has received offers from every top program in the country, including Georgia and Alabama, but the stiffest competition will come from his home state; LSU. On3 gives it a 90.9 percent chance of landing Stewart. USC currently has a 1.8 percent chance.
The Trojans’ recruiting process is just starting, as they didn’t extend a scholarship offer until April 2023, nearly two years after Georgia offered him.
Jahkeem Stewart’s Thoughts On USC Football
“My favorite things about (USC is) the opportunity there on the field, getting coached by the best,” Stewart told Wiltfong. “Coach Henny (Eric Henderson) does a great job with what he does. He’s got results and resume on his coaching.
“My big takeaway was just getting up and working with Coach Henny,” Stewart said, “It was great. It was a lot of work. It was really getting a vibe for coach. Coach Henny is a great coach, a great teacher. Every time he told me something, I’m a coachable player. He knows I’m coming there to work. I loved it. I loved it a lot.”
“Coach Lincoln (Riley), he told me last year that he was going to get the best defensive staff and he did it. He told me he’s gonna get a better facility and he’s done it. I’m going to continue to trust him and build a relationship with him. There is a lot I can say about Lincoln Riley but he’s a man of his word.”
USC Football defensive line coach and lead recruiter, Eric Henderson was a part of getting ‘the best defensive staff’ this year. Henderson most recently worked with the Los Angeles Rams as DL coach, working with future Hall of Famer, Aaron Donald.
