Two Trojans Receivers Named To The Biletnikoff Award Watch List

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation Inc., the creator, and sponsor of the Biletnikoff Award (the award given to the nation’s best receiver), has released the 2023 Biletnikoff Award Watch List.

The Biletnikoff Award is like the MVP for college football’s best receiver. It doesn’t matter if they’re a wide receiver, tight end, or even a running back who catches passes. The award recognizes the top receiver in the game, not just the top wide receiver.

USC has become known as Wide Receiver U, so holding true to that value, two current USC Trojans have been named to this watchlist, Dorian Singer and Tahj Washington.

Trojan Candidates

Dorian Singer transferred to USC after playing at the University of Arizona during his freshman and sophomore seasons. Last year, he posted 1,105 yards, 66 receptions, and 6 touchdowns and was awarded AP All-PAC-12 First Team and AP All-PAC-12 Second Team Honors. He will look to build upon that breakout season and create a legacy for himself at SC.

Tahj Washington enters his redshirt senior season listed at 5’10, 175 pounds. Last season, Washington was an integral part of the offense finishing with 50 receptions, 785 yards, and 6 touchdowns. He was named an All-PAC-12 Honorable Mention.

Surprisingly, Trojan WRs Brenden Rice and Mario Williams were not named to the watch list. All 4 players, however, will be crucial as USC looks to make a run at the College Football Playoff for the first time since its inception.
