Marshawn Lloyd NFL Draft Profile: Bio
After three seasons at the University of South Carolina, Marshawn Lloyd made his way to Southern California where he was able to expand on his repertoire at the running back position as he recorded 116 carries for 820 yards and nine touchdowns. He also averaged 17.9 yards per reception, recording 13 catches for 232 yards, which helped him earn All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
He was a five-star player out of high school before joining South Carolina where he played two seasons that limited him at the beginning of his collegiate career due to a torn ACL during his freshman campaign in 2020.
In the two seasons following his knee surgery in Columbus, he was a starter during the 2022-23 season, getting the nod in eight games while recording 111 carries for 573 yards and nine touchdowns. Lloyd also logged 18 receptions for 176 and touchdowns
During the 2021-22 season, Lloyd played in 12 games, without a start, and totaled 64 rushing attempts for 228 yards and a touchdown with three receptions for 44 yards.

One of Lloyd’s strong suits heading into the draft his flashes that show on video as his weight north of 215 pounds plays a factor, especially when it comes to run blocking on third down and being that last line of defense for a quarterback.
His use in the receiving game is also a plus, which makes him utilizable on third down who can run block and catch the ball to convert first downs.
In addition, his ability in the open field is a plus for his way to breaking tackles in one-on-one situations, both while running the ball and as a pass catcher. That is due to twitchy feet and a wide base, which allows him to make those sudden moves.
During the Senior Bowl, Lloyd was named the top running back on the National team in a vote from his linebacker teammates during the workouts.

Lloyd’s downfalls include his vision, which will limit how he will be used by an NFL team. His vision is not superb as his ball security is a concern.
In addition to his ACL tear, he also missed time in 2022 and 2023 due to injury, which will limit his potential ability to be a durable player, especially early in his NFL career.
