UCLA Bruins Secure Emerging Star WR Via Transfer Portal

Former Appalachian State wide receiver Kaedin Robinson has committed to the UCLA Bruins, according to On3.

Robinson, who began his collegiate career at UCF, enjoyed a productive three-year stint with the Mountaineers. In 2024, he recorded 53 receptions for 840 yards and two touchdowns, averaging an impressive 15.8 yards per catch. Throughout his career, Robinson amassed 148 receptions for 2,194 yards, 15 touchdowns, and an average of 14.8 yards per catch. He did all of this in just nine games before suffering an injury that ended his season.

Robinson, a member of the Class of 2021, was a highly-touted recruit, ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in North Carolina, the No. 7 wide receiver nationally, and the No. 35 overall prospect in the class according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

The move to UCLA marks a reunion for Robinson and his former teammate, quarterback Joey Aguilar, who has also committed to the Bruins. Aguilar, who recently completed a successful two-year stint at Appalachian State, recorded over 3,000 passing yards in both seasons. His 2024 campaign was particularly impressive, with 3,757 passing yards and 23 touchdowns in 14 games, leading the Mountaineers to a 9-5 record and a berth in the Sun Belt Championship.

The Bruins are looking to replace two top receivers, Logan Loya and J. Michael Sturdivant who left through the transfer portal after the season. The 6 foot 2 205 205-pound receiver will join Kwazi Gilmer, Rico Flores, and Titus Mokiao-Atimalala as the starting receivers.
