The Next Generation of WWE Superstars

There were numerous call-ups to WWE’s main roster this week. We take a look at the impact levels these talents will have on their respective brands.

No Way Jose

The next generation of WWE superstars began with the debut No Way Jose debuting against an unknown fighter.  Wrestlers like Nia Jax and Braun Strowman also debuted in the same way and became marquee wrestlers and champions.  However, this feels less than that and maybe more of a mid-level wrestler type. Jose gives me a feel of Fandango and most likely will not be an impact on the RAW brand.

Authors of Pain

A very impressive debut by the Authors of Pain with a win over Heath Slater and Rhyno.  The Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar, demolished the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions, finishing the match with their patented Last Chapter. The impact they will have in a tag team division that literally had a 10-year-old as champion will be very big. I see them in the tag team title picture in the near future, depending on if they want to create a storyline for them leaving their legendary manager Paul Ellering.

Impact level- 7

Ember Moon

The company set the tone for starting RAW off with a Ronda Rousey armbar. The women’s division on both brands is in for another big year, which means Ember Moon has a good shot at making the biggest impact out of the next generation of WWE superstars. Her athleticism and charisma make for a really good addition to the RAW brand. Teaming her with current champion Nia Jax is a good way to put her in line to be maybe the biggest WWE superstar to debut on the main roster after WrestleMania.

The IIconics

While Ember Moon made her grand debut on RAW, The IIconics made their arrival known on SmackDown. Billy Kay and Peyton Royce made it known to the SmackDown women’s division that they would be a force to reckon with. Although it was a similar start to the debut of the Riott Squad, these two took down Charlotte Flair with ease (I mean, it was 2 on 1), resulting in Flair losing her title and creating a bigger storyline than the feud the Riott Squad had when they debuted.
