Since April 2, 2017, we have known what the main event of WrestleMania 34 was going to be: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Universal title. While WWE never explicitly told us this was going to happen, mostly every wrestling fan in the world knew this is where we were going to end up in a year’s time. This, of course, angered most of the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community, for those that don’t know what that means).

However, knowing that people would probably boo the main event, WWE has put together a fantastic card around it to make sure the people online stay happy.

For starters, we have AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE championship. This is a legit dream match that most never thought would happen in the United States, let alone WWE and at WrestleMania for the WWE title. It’s the “indie darlings” competing for the biggest prize in pro wrestling at the grandest stage of them all, ensuring that the IWC be kept happy for at least one of the main events.

Then, another dream match was made when Asuka challenged Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. This is a match that could easily main event the show and nobody would complain about it. The undefeated Asuka challenging the de facto leader of the women’s revolution is a big-time match. It will be fascinating to see who prevails when those two collide in three weeks.

Another notable match that the “smarks” love is The Miz vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship. These are three of the best wrestlers in the world today, and all three could steal the show in New Orleans.

Other rumored matches are Sasha Banks vs. Bayley, Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn, and John Cena vs. The Undertaker. All three of those matches are headline-type matches, getting the IWC excited for a potentially all-time great WrestleMania.

It’s very strategic of WWE to load up this year’s card with a lot of “dream matches.” If Cena and ‘Taker becomes official, that puts three legit dream matches onto one show: Styles/Nakamura, Charlotte/Asuka, and Cena/Undertaker. How many WrestleMania cards have there been with that many dream matches on them? The answer is very few.

So yeah, the main event of WrestleMania may get booed more than it should. That shouldn’t discount how amazing the rest of this year’s card is. We could be in store for one of the greatest Manias ever, and one that is sure to keep the smarks off of WWE’s back…for at least one night.
