With Backlash behind us, Raw should be filled the aftermath and the build for Money in The Bank (MITB). Hours before Raw, two triple-threat MITB ladder match qualifying matches were announced. The first one was Ember Moon vs. Ruby Riott vs. Sasha Banks, while the other was Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns.

Regardless of who wins these matches, Raw is promised to be action-packed. Join us as we break down the Raw Review for May 7th.

Opening Segment

Kurt Angles opens Raw and entices the “You Suck” chants. The GM announces the MITB qualifying matches, but is interrupted by Braun Strowman. Angles tells Strowman he deserves to be in the MITB match, but they’re interrupted by Kevin Owens. Owens claims he should be in MITB match and he says he shouldn’t have to qualify.

Angle makes a MITB qualifying match between Owens and Strowman for now.

Kevin Owens vs. Braun Strowman

Braun dominates early in the match. Owens hits Strowman with a Tornado DDT off the outside barricade and takes control. Owens continues to try and win by count-out. We come back from commercial to find the two trading control.

Strowman hits the Power Slam to win and qualify for the MITB match.

No Way Jose & Titus Worldwide vs. Baron Corbin & The Revival

Titus and Dash Wilder start off the match, but Apollo quickly tags in. Corbin attacks Crews on the outside and quickly dominates. Jose gets the hot tag and takes out the heel team. Corbin hits End of Days outta nowhere on Jose and scores the pinfall.

Sasha Banks vs. Ruby Riott vs. Ember Moon

Ruby quickly exits the ring, leaving Moon and Banks battle it out. Riott sees an opportunity and takes control. The three trade dominance throughout the match.

Moon hits a doubles Eclipse and pins Riott for the win and qualifies for MITB.

Jinder Mahal vs. Chad Gable

Mahal takes control and tries to score multiple pinfalls, but fails. The two go back and forth throughout the duration. Mahal hits the Khallas to end the match with a pinfall.

Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno

Ziggler and Rhyno start off the match. Dolph and McIntyre dominate for the entire match and end the match with the Zig-Zag/Claymore combo.

Bobby Roode vs. Elias

Roode interrupts Elias’ concert as the match starts with Roode taking control early. We come back from commercial break and Elias is dominant. in the late stages of the match, the two go back and forth until Roode hits a Glorious DDT and wins the match.

Seth Rollins Open Challenge

Rollins issues an open challenge for the Intercontinental Championship. It’s answered by Mojo Rawley.

Seth Rollins vs. Mojo Rawley

The match starts and the crowd begins chanting “We Want Ryder.” Mojo takes control early. The two go back and forth and Seth hits two consecutive suicide dives. Rollins hits the Blackout to retain the IC Championship.

Deleter of Worlds vs. Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas

Wyatt and Axel start the match. The two teams trade blows early and go back and forth until Wyatt hits Axel with a Sister Abagail for the win.

Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor

Zayn starts talking trash to Roman and gets and gets taken out for his trouble. Roman takes control early, giving right hands to everybody. We come back to commercial to find everyone trading moves.

Zayn and Balor team up against Reigns and the three take the match into the crowd. While still in the crowd, Roman gets hit with a Helluva Kick and a Coup De Grace. Zayn and Balor head back in the ring and go back and forth.

Roman comes back to the ring and takes out Zayn. Roman hits both of his opponents with Superman Punches and goes for a spear, but gets distracted by Jinder Mahal. Roman gets hit with a helluva kick, Balor takes out Sami and hits him with a Coup De Grace for the win.

Conclusion

With great matches and builds toward MITB, this was a really great episode of Raw. The right people won the qualifying matches and it was a good choice to make the entire night about MITB.

Overall, a fantastic night to get everyone excited for Money In The Bank.
