Raw Review
The Honeymoon period is over for the WWE. After numerous debuts, returns and shakeups, It’s time for the WWE to return to normal programming. Even though the surprises are done for, that doesn’t mean the show won’t be of great quality. It will be interesting watching the different faces mingle and should make for a great Raw.
Here is a quick review of everything the happened on this episode of Raw.
Opening Segment
The night starts with a ten-bell salute to the late, great Bruno Sammartino, who passed away last week. It was followed by a video tribute.
Brock Lesnar Segment
After the video package, Lesnar comes to the ring with Paul Heyman. Heyman claims that Lesnar doesn’t gloat but, he has Heyman does gloat for him. Heyman says that Lesnar is more than ready for Saudi Arabia and will win the match. Heyman claims that Brock will shred Roman Reigns limb from limb, but is interrupted by Reigns.
Reigns claims that he will come home with the championship before the segment ends.
Bobby Roode vs. Elias
The two go back and forth early. We come back from commercial to find Elias has taken control. The two go back and forth until Elias rolls up Roode for the win.
The Deleter of Worlds vs. The Ascension
Hardy and Wyatt start their domination early. The Deleters finish the match with an assisted Twist of Fate.
The Sami & Kevin Show w/ Kurt Angle
The pair claim that one of them will win the Greatest Royal Rumble and that tonight is a fresh start. The two trade barbs and the duo blackmail Angle from being fired. Kurt makes a match between Sami & Kevin vs. Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman.
Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre vs. Titus Worldwide
Dolph and Titus start off the match and TW takes control early. McIntyre tags in and runs roughshod over TW. McIntyre and Ziggler end the match quickly after the Claymore/ZigZag combo.
Jinder Mahal vs. Chad Gable
Mahal attacks Gable off the distraction from Sunil Singh before the match even starts. The match starts and Gable surprises Maha,l but Mahal dominates for the majority the match. Gable wins the match with a quick, surprise pin.
Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs. Bobby Lashley & Braun Strowman
The match starts with Sami and Kevin ducking out the ring, getting chased by the gigantic duo. Lashley and Owens are the legal men and Lashley is dominating. Braun gets the long-awaited hot tag and takes out KO & Zayn.
Lashley tags in, hits the suspended suplex on Zayn and tags Braun, who hits Zayn with the running powerslam for the win.
Baron Corbin vs. No Way Jose
Corbin comes to the ring and says Jose isn’t worthy of a match. Jose says they can party anyways and continues to dance up the ramp. Corbin ambushes Jose from behind. Corbin leaves and the match never happens.
Finn Balor & Seth Rollins vs. Miztourage
Balor and Dallas start the match. The two teams trade blows early. Rollins hits the Blackout followed by Balor hitting the Coup De Grace for the victory.
Ten-Women Tag Team
Sasha Banks and Liv Morgan start the match, but Morgan immediately tags Sarah Logan and they both attack Banks. The faces take control as we cut to commercial. We come back from commercial to find Logan in control of Banks.
Chaos breaks out, leading to Nia Jax jumping off the apron onto everybody on the outside.
Mickie James attacks Natalya, who’s being treated for an injured leg, but is interrupted by Ronda Rousey. Rousey puts James in an armbar and the match ends in disqualification.
Conclusion
The aftermath of WrestleMania and the Superstar Shake-up proved to make a great episode of Raw. This was also a great go-home show for the Greatest Royal Rumble, with plenty of matchmaking and announcements for entry into the rumble.
The night had great matches and fantastic promos that built the overall stories, which is what we crave for Raw.
