SmackDown Summary
SmackDown Summary

Although Raw after Mania gets all the glory, I’m sure SmackDown Live is sure to be a great one. With debuts and returns sure to be in store, tonight’s Smackdown may just be the best one of the year. Before the show, it was announced that Shane McMahon would kick off SmackDown with a huge announcement.

Join us as we recap the SmackDown Live after Wrestlemania.

Opening Segment

As said earlier, Shane opens up SmackDown. Shane thanks the WWE Universe for an amazing WrestleMania week. Shane says that Daniel Bryan has resigned as GM and the names Paige as the new SmackDown GM. Paige thanks Shane for the position and made a match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles.

The Usos vs. The New Day

This match is a number one contender’s match for the SD Live Tag Team Championships in Saudi Arabia. The two teams go back and forth early. The match becomes a back and forth contest for most of the match. The Usos win after a Frog Splash to Xavier.

After the match, The Usos’ celebration is interrupted by the Bludgeon Brothers for a face-to-face confrontation.

Naomi vs. Natalya

Naomi dominates as we go to commercial. We come back from the break to find Nattie in control. The two go back and forth for the rest of the match until a split legged moonsault from Naomi to capture the win.

Backstage Segment

Renee Young asks Shinsuke Nakamura why he attacked AJ Styles. Shinsuke replies “sorry, no speak English.”

Charlotte Flair Segment

Charlotte thanks Asuka for the effort, but is interrupted by a debuting Peyton Royce and Billy Kay; The Iconics. The duo tells Flair to “stop talking about a match that happened in the past and look to the future.” The two attack Flair at ringside, using stairs and announce tables.

After the match, Carmella cashes in the MITB briefcase on a lifeless Flair. Carmella wins the SD Live Women’s Championship after one Superkick.

Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode vs. Rusev

The winner of this match will face Jinder Mahal for the United States Championship at Backlash.  We come back from commercial to find the match already started. Each of the superstars takes turns dominating the match. After an RKO, Randy Orton pins Roode for the win.

AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan

The fast and furious pace of the match gets us into the action quickly. The two are both hard hitting during the entire match. The match is mostly even until it ends in DQ after Shinsuke Nakamura interferes in the match, hitting a Kinshasa on both Styles and Bryan.

Conclusion

We had a lot of possibilities for the SmackDown following WrestleMania and after tonight, there is an endless amount of possibilities heading into the Superstar Shakeup. With great matches, debuts and surprises, this episode of SD Live will go down as a history-making night.
