Should the Rams Re-Sign Robert Woods? Vote Now.

The new Tennessee Titans general manager, Ran Carthon is clearing house and Robert Woods was one of his first cuts. Shortly, after Woods tweeted a simple statement.

Woods had a statistically down season. He had fewer receiving yards in 17 games this season than he did in nine games last season and last season wasn’t up to his normal production level. So it’s apparent why he feels liberated. He can now find a team that will know how to use him. The LA Rams have been a place that have known how to put Woods to work. And McVay has been the only coach that sees just how valuable and versatile Woods is.

The Rams have plenty of opportunity in their wide receivers room and are in desparate need of more bodies. Allen Robinson‘s future with the team is in question and all top three receivers, Robinson, Cooper Kupp, and Van Jefferson, have all sustained serious injuries recently. The young talent have flashed talent, but none will rise to the level of All-Pro.

The harsh reality may be that Woods is on the wrong side of 30 and the Rams can’t afford to give up a spot on the roster that could be filled with a guaranteed producer. Not only that, but Woods was rarely Matthew Stafford‘s preferred target. The Rams offense is going to look very different than it did in 2021. Woods may no longer be the skeleton key that he once was for McVay. The calls to re-sign the likes of Robert Woods and Odell Beckham Jr. may be looking backward rather than forward.
