I have been saying for quite some time “I can’t believe an NFL team has yet to pick up the likes of Arian Foster.”
When healthy, Foster is one of the best backs in the game with elite quickness between the tackles, and elusiveness out of the backfield. His style of play is one-cut and take-off downhill.
A product of Gary Kubiak’s zone-blocking scheme, I think that Foster would still be a great asset to any team willing to take a chance on him after his season ended abruptly after rupturing his Achilles’ tendon. He was cut from the Texans roster in March.
Of all of the NFL teams, the franchise that makes the most sense to me to sign Foster is the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins lost their former lead back Lamar Miller to Foster’s former team, the Houston Texans, via free agency. With the loss of Miller, the ‘Phins attempted to sign restricted free agent C.J. Anderson, but Denver matched the offer sheet, keeping Anderson in a Bronco uniform.
The Dolphins have spoken highly of their second year back Jay Ajayi, but his ability to carry the workload is certainly a question mark, and a veteran presence is always valuable, especially in a new system that comes with first-year head coach Adam Gase.
Well, my thoughts became a reality.
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, after a Monday workout with the team, the Dolphins will sign 29-year-old Foster to a one-year deal, per a source.

Foster has been rehabbing in the Houston-based training facility owned by his brother, IX Innovations. He is expected to be ready for training camp. Details of the deal to follow.
The signing of Foster will undoubtedly have fantasy implications as the starting job in Miami is now up for grabs entering training camp. If Foster can regain his old form, expect him to go fairly high in 10-12 team leagues.
