The Rams defeated the Raiders in dramatic fashion in SoFi Stadium last night, 17-16. It wasn’t only Baker Mayfield’s debut… but it was his debut after getting claimed 48 hours prior by Sean McVay and the Rams. In miraculous fashion (and after only putting up 3 points in the first half) the Rams’ offense began clicking halfway through the fourth quarter and the Raheem Morris’ defense simultaneously decided to play the best form of complementary football possible – while only allowing 67 yards in total in the second half. In one of the more thrilling games we’ve seen all season, it was the Rams who came away on top – and it was equality in part due to Josh McDaniels’ coaching style down the stretch. Only one way to define it: “scared”. The Rams meanwhile took plenty of risks – and they all paid off.
