“A person does not grow from the ground like a vine or a tree, one is not part of a plot of land. Mankind has legs so it can wander.” Coincidently, Mcvay has come to the same realization with his offensive play-calling. Despite momentarily, McVay has integrated the run game into his offense. Hopefully, McVay can stay grounded and rely on Sony Michel against the Cardinals. Below we’ll discuss why the run game is imperative for the Rams success–especially against the Arizona Cardinals.

Rams Need To Run The Ball, Precisely More Than 18 Attempts

This year the Los Angeles Rams have lost to the Arizona Cardinals (23 carries), Tennessee Titans (21 carries), San Francisco 49ers (10 carries), and the Green Bay Packers (20 carries). Thus, on average, that is 18 carries per game.

However, the Rams have beat the Chicago Bears (23 carries), Indianapolis (29 carries), Tampa Bay (24 carries), Seattle Seahawks (29 carries), New York Giants (34 carries), Detroit Lions (19 carries), Houston Texans (31 carries), Jacksonville Jaguars (27 carries). Thus, on average, that is 27 carries per game.

Therefore, if the Rams have a balanced offense with at least 27 carries, then the Rams have a significant chance of winning. Thus, let’s stay grounded McVay.

Pass Game Thrives When The Run Game Is Integrated Into The Offensive Gameplan

Interestingly, Matthew Stafford has thrown only four interceptions when the Rams average 27 or more carries per game. However, Stafford has six interceptions when the Rams average less than 27 carries. To make matters worse, those six interceptions occurred over four games. Whereas the four interceptions occurred over eight games.

Thus, Matthew Stafford has fewer mistakes and more production when the Rams integrate the run game into the offense.

Rams Fans Enjoy A Balanced Offense

One of the wonders of Sean Mcvay is his propensity to get pass-happy, whether it be with Goff or Stafford. No one knows why. Not sure if McVay wants to provide a more intriguing game for Rams fans or if he gets mentally stuck in “Madden mode.”

Regardless, Rams Nation wants to win and believes winning is more important than a “flashy” game. I’ll take it even further and say that Rams Nation loves the run game. Considering the Rams’ historical roots with running backs, Rams Nation wants to see the running game integrated into the offensive game plan. Therefore, stay grounded McVay.
