Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver, Puka Nacua, was on his way to having another great game. He had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. The TD came on a 70-yard catch and run from Matthew Stafford. That marked the longest play from scrimmage of the season for the Rams. Nacua’s production also put him over 1000 yards in his rookie season. He is the first 2023 rookie to achieve that. He is just the 3rd player picked outside of the top-100 draft picks to record a 1000-yard receiving rookie year.
Most importantly, Nacua was the only Ram getting traction against the vaunted Browns defense. It was also the first game in over a month that he logged over 100 yards in a game.
Puka Nacua Injury
Nacua left midway through the second quarter after suffering a rib injury after making an impressive catch along the sidelines. Puka Nacua was listed as questionable to return to the game but returned after halftime, playing in the Rams offense first drive of the second half.
Nacua’s durability was the largest factor in his draft stock dropping so dramatically last spring. He dealt with a number of injuries in his collegiate career. Nacua has also been on the injury report periodically this season but hasn’t missed time.
