Los Angeles Rams Announce The Return Of Important Red-Zone Weapon

The Los Angeles Rams are poised to welcome back tight end Tyler Higbee, who is expected to be activated from injured reserve next week, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic. Higbee, who tore his ACL and MCL in the team’s playoff loss to the Detroit Lions, has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 season. Ms. Rodrigue noted that it is “not finalized or official yet, [head coach Sean McVay] noted – but right now that’s the plan.”

His return is a significant boost for the Rams, who have won three of their last five games and are currently trailing the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West.

Higbee hasn’t looked like his prime self but he has been a consistent contributor to the Rams’ offense, recording over 400 receiving yards in each of the past five seasons. In 2023, he amassed 495 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 47 receptions. Perhaps his biggest contribution to the offense is in critical third-down situations. His 26 receiving first downs accounted for 12.6 of all of the Rams passing first downs last season.

Higbee’s return will add another dimension to the Rams’ offense, providing quarterback Matthew Stafford with a reliable target in the passing game and bolstering their third down and red zone efficiency.
