To a large degree, the Los Angeles Rams season has been defined by the offensive line. They invested so heavily in the group so heavily recently. They used their first pick in the 2023 draft to pick up left guard Steve Avila and spent a collective $26 million in cap space (more than 10 percent) on right guard Kevin Dotson and center Jonah Jackson.
Then injuries were the defining factor. Avila and Jackson have missed much of the season due to injury. The newest addition to the injured offensive linemen is Rob Havenstein, who went down with an ankle injury late in the third quarter.

Havenstein had to be assisted off the field and was seen by The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue working on the sidelines in what she described as ‘one of the larger braces I’ve seen.’
Havenstein missed the season opener against the Detroit Lions with an ankle injury. It is unclear if this injury is a new injury or an aggravation of one being managed since then.
2023 fifth-round draft pick Warren McClendon came into the game for Havenstein. He also filled in in Week 1. In that game, he allowed five pressures and three quarterback hits.
Havenstein has been with the team since he was drafted in 2015. He is the last Ram that had played for the franchise in St. Louis and Los Angeles.
