Rams OC: I Don’t Care What Our Record Is

The Los Angeles Rams season is at a pivotal spot. They essentially have to start winning this week against the Las Vegas Raiders to make 2024 a successful season. That is to say, make the playoffs. Sitting at 1-4 many teams may lack the motivation to keep going. For the Rams offensive coordinator at the very least, he isn’t concerned with the win-loss column.

Rams OC Not Worried About The Past

Mike LaFleur was asked this week about how the team can turn it around. He is focused on the day-in and day-out aspects of his job, not what is in the past or in the future.

“This league is week to week,” LaFluer said. “And if you’re worried about what happened in the past you’re worried about the wrong stuff. Now you’re learning from things from the past to move forward to make sure those things don’t happen again but you know I truthfully don’t care what our record is. I’m worried about this week and putting our best foot forward today, leading in tomorrow, and then the best results will happen on Sunday when we put in that work.”

The Rams have recent precedence for mounting a dramatic comeback. Just last season they entered their bye week with a loss to Green Bay, then won seven of the last eight games finishing the year with a 10-7 record and wild card playoff spot.

Sound familiar? The difference this year is they have only won one game and are far more injured this year than last. But everyone wants to know if the Rams have some special sauce that will do magical things for the rest of the season. No, LaFleur says.

“I think the guys just coming to work and working to get better every single day. That’s coaches players, that’s everyone in this building. LaFleur said”

“My recollection of last year is no different than this year in terms of how we’re approaching this thing and trying to be 1 and 0 this week.”
