The Los Angeles Rams made their first big move of free agency on Thursday when they re-signed right guard, Kevin Dotson. The initial reports were that it would be a three-year deal worth $48 million.

Since then the details from the contract have been released. According to Over the Cap, Dotson will make $7 million as a base salary with a signing bonus of $4.25 million. He is guaranteed $11.25 this season. His cap hit will be $12,666,666 which represents 4.9% of the total salary cap. His cap number will increase to nearly $18 million next season.

For now that places Dotson as the 6th highest cap hit on the roster. He is currently behind Joseph Noteboom, who has a cap hit of $20 million, but the Rams are actively attempting to renegotiate his contract to reduce that number more commensurate with a backup offensive lineman.

Until the Noteboom restructure is completed, the Rams have $29 million in cap space remaining for the offseason.
