Los Angeles Rams Cooper Kupp Nominated For Walter Payton Man Of The Year Award

It’s that time of year again. With the spirit of the holidays and giving in the air, the NFL is taking a moment to spotlight players across the league to volunteer their time to make their communities a better place. According to the Rams media, the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee for the Los Angeles Rams has been announced and it is none other than Cooper Kupp. The Rams’ franchise receiver is now one of 32 nominees who can win the official award in early February.

Earlier this year, Kupp joined with LA Regional Food Bank and local Los Angeles chefs to distribute hundreds of thousands of nutritious meals across Los Angeles County. He also didn’t limit his giving to Los Angeles as he also made donations that ended up totaling 84,000 meals for food banks in central Washington in the Yakima and Richland areas of the state.

Number 18 is originally from Yakima and even through all of his success in the league, he didn’t forget where he came from, making sure that the community that raised him saw a return on their investment.

Kupp also spent a lot of effort in helping out the local Royal High School Football team to meet with players and coaches, giving a film session to hand the team some pointers and help instill a winning culture. He also invited the high school team to have an extensive tour of the Rams facility.

In addition to that, Kupp hosted a free youth football camp for 125 “youth” and funded buses for transportation. The wide receiver has also bought clothes to reward local Inglewood students to encourage “strong attendance, participation, and engagement.”

This was not his first award nomination of this type this year. He also was nominated as the team’s Salute to Service Award honoree for his continued support of military veterans.
