Los Angeles Rams fans had a brief moment of relief heading into their game against the Ravens when Lamar Jackson mysteriously missed practice on Thursday. Rumors quickly swirled that perhaps the quarterback was once again disgruntled with his team or at the very least that he had a minor injury that would keep him from playing in Week 14.
That brief moment has passed. The Ravens have announced that Jackson missed practice due to an illness circulating the Raven’s locker room. (Rashod Bateman also missed practice time due to illness) Jackson will play against the Rams and according to Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh, Jackson is “..Feeling good… full of life. He looked good out there. He was back. He’s recovered.”
The Rams vs Lamar Jackson
Jackson is among the league’s front runners for the annual MVP award, both he and his team are having a great season. To go with his 2618 yards passing, Jackson leads all non-running backs with 573 yards and he also has 13 passing touchdowns and 5 rushing. The Ravens, of course, are 9-3 and are only behind the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl odds.
The Rams haven’t played against Jackson since his sophomore season of 2019, when he won NFL MVP. In that season the Rams received the hardiest beat down of the McVay era, losing 45-6. The Rams beat the Ravens in 2022, 20-19 but Tyler Huntley started rather than Jackson, who was nursing a knee injury.
