Atlanta Falcons Hire Los Angeles Rams Passing Game Coordinator For New OC Under Raheem Morris

Former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was hired to be the Atlanta Falcons head coach earlier this week, not long after the rumor was Morris wanted Zac Robinson to come with him to be the Falcons offensive coordinator. That rumor is now a reality. News of the move dropped Saturday night.

Robinson served in his role with the Rams as passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach since 2022. Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, and Chicago Bears all showed interest in Robinson for offensive coordinator

Robinson added to the long list of Sean McVay assistants who have been given promotions to head coach or top coordinator positions.

Robinson will now lead an offense chock full of talented offensive weapons. They include Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson. All of whom are on their rookie contracts. They will need to find a qualified starting quarterback. But the Falcons also come equipped with the 8th pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. They were 17th in yards and 26th in points per game.

Zac Robinson’s time with the Los Angeles Rams

Robinson is a Los Angeles Rams home-grown product. They gave him his first coaching job as an assistant quarterbacks coach under Shane Waldron. He also worked under Kevin O’Connell. Ironically, both coaches were in Robinson’s role before they were promoted by other teams. Zac Taylor was also a Rams quarterbacks coach before getting hired by the Cincinnati Bengals as head coach.

Robinson was a prolific college quarterback at Oklahoma State while playing for Mike Gundy. Robinson was drafted in the seventh round by the New England Patriots and bounced around to a few teams before hanging it up in 2014.
