If he hasn’t proven it already, LeBron James is showing he’s still got it. Despite his age at 39 years old, the legend continues to dominate, notching three triple-doubles in just 10 games, including back-to-back performances.
LeBron James initially took the backseat until Anthony Davis sustained an eye injury in Sunday night’s game against Toronto, leaving James to do what he does best. James recorded his third triple-double of the season, 19 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists to help carry the Lakers to an easy 123-103 win.
Davis left the 3rd quarter with 22 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.
Although the Lakers missed Davis’ absence, James stole the show, guiding the Lakers to victory with his masterful pace and control.
Turning Back The Clocks For LeBron James Makes History
With James’s performance, he now becomes the oldest NBA player in history to record back-to-back triple-doubles.
“I’m still able to get up and down the highway and do it at a high level,” James said. “I just try to give everything to the game outside of the game before the game even starts. I arrive four, five hours before the game and I’m already starting to do all the things, to put me in position to be the best I can be when the fans aren’t here, and the ball is tipping and everyone is going crazy.”
However, LeBron himself recognizes that this won’t last forever as he is just one month shy of turning 40 saying, “I won’t do it until the wheels fall off, I’ll tell you that.”
The Los Angeles Lakers next game will be on Wednesday at 7:00 PM against the Memphis Grizzlies.
