There are moments and then there is THE moment. Freddie Freeman just had his Los Angeles Dodgers moment.
Down 3-2, in the bottom of the 10th inning, Freddie Freeman stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and an opportunity at history. Well, it didn’t take long.
Freeman took the first pitch, a four-seam fastball, deep to right field and sent the City of Los Angeles into a frenzy.
On a night in Los Angeles that had so much going on, the home run could be heard in every venue.
Freddie Freeman Send Los Angeles Into Frenzy
I am currently at the Coliseum covering the USC Trojans and Rutgers game. The stadium erupted as everyone was glued to their phones as the Dodgers entered extra innings.
The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of an epic comeback against the Phoenix Suns just across the way at Crypto.com Arena. That place went nuts as well.
SoFi Stadium also got in on the action. The place went crazy during the East LA Classic.
Freeman’s home run immediately got everyone thinking of the legendary Kirk Gibson. It has been 36 years since his epic World Series home run. To make this even more reminiscent, Gibson was injured during the performance and everyone remembers him limping around the bases during Game 1 of that 1988 series.
