The Los Angeles Chargers starting left guard Zion Johnson left their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an ankle injury and has officially been ruled questionable to return.
Johnson sustained an ankle injury in the second half of the game, raising concerns about his availability for future matchups. Jamaree Salyer has stepped in to replace Johnson at left guard.

The 17th overall pick in the 2022 draft has played in 45 of a possible 47 games since being added by the team. So far this season he has allowed 28 quarterback pressures resulting in five sacks, the most pressure allowed on the Chargers. His 70.6 run-blocking grade via Pro Football Focus is third-best.
The Chargers have felt the very real effects of missing several key pieces on their offense. Running back JK Dobbins and tight end Hayden Hurst remain on the injured reserve, fellow tight end Will Dissly was forced to miss this game with a shoulder injury, and wide receiver Ladd McConkey was a game-time decision suffering from a knee and shoulder injury. Quarterback Justin Herbert was limited in practice with an ankle and thigh injury.
After their loss, the Chargers fall to 8-6, heading into a short week before facing the 9-5 AFC West rivals Denver Broncos.
