The Los Angeles Chargers suffered an injury to their defense in the first half of their game against the Cleveland Browns. It is unclear when Junior Colson was injured but it was posted on X by team reporters shortly before 11 AM PST that he was questionable to return with an ankle injury.
Colson entered the blue tent and is testing the ankle, but has yet to play in the game. Ja’Sir Taylor has missed time in this game, as well, dealing with a lingering fibula injury
Colson Questionable to Return to Chargers vs. Browns
Colson has struggled to stay healthy since joining the Chargers. Before the season started, Colson required surgery due to appendicitis. After playing 58 percent of the team’s defensive snaps in the team’s opening game against the Las Vegas Raiders, he injured his hamstring the next week against the Carolina Panthers. That forced him to miss the next two games but made it back to the field in Week 6 after their bye week.
Colson had not been listed on the Chargers injury report since making his return but saw a big decline in playing time against the New Orleans Saints.
Troy Dye has picked up Colson’s snaps.
The rookie third-rounder has played 27 percent of defensive snaps and is a big contributor on special teams. He has 14 tackles and one pass breakup as a defender.
