The final injury report for the Los Angeles Chargers game against the Cleveland Browns was released shortly before Noon PST on Friday before the game. Like most injury reports it contained some good news and some bad.
Good News For Chargers WRs
The Chargers pass-catching corps has been a point of contention since they opted to keep Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack over both top wide receivers, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. While that debate continues to rage as the NFL Trade Deadline approaches (Nov. 5th), their pass-catching corps is, at the very least, getting healthy.
According to the injury report, the Chargers will get Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, and Hayden Hurst back against the Browns. Johnston (ankle) and Hurst (groin) have missed the last two games while Davis missed just one with a hamstring injury.
The team’s leading receivers, Ladd McConkey and Will Dissly, were limited in practices this week, but both are a full go for Sunday.
DJ Chark, who has not played a game since being signed this offseason, is officially questionable. Rookie receiver Brenden Rice and tight end Stone Smartt will also miss this game.
The Bad Injury News
On the flip side, the secondary has also struggled to stay healthy. Cornerbacks Asante Samuel was moved to the injured reserve in Week 5 and Kristian Fulton has been a mainstay on the injury report since before the bye dealing with a hamstring injury. Although he had yet to miss a game this season, Fulton was officially ruled out against the Cleveland Browns.
Both outside linebacker Joey Bosa and linebacker Denzel Perryman are questionable heading into the game. Bosa has struggled to get back to the field. He had missed three straight games but made his return last week on a limited snap count — playing just 27 percent of the defensive snaps against the New Orleans Saints
